I’m not so happy. Just voting people out doesn’t do much good. Why? Because we’re actually voting others in. And too many of the people voted in don’t care about about the right stuff. Yes, the right stuff…things like: jobs and a fair wage for all; health insurance for everyone as a basic human right; a decent education for all, not just the wealthy.

I’m not so sure that the US of A is much of a democracy any more. And people much wiser and more insightful than me say this. Just read Bill Moyers’ wonderful speech “Welcome to the Plutocarcy!” Part of the Howard Zinn Lecture Series at Boston University.

Thanks to Pamela Grow for the recommendation. And learn about Howard Zinn, too, great social justice advocate. For example, read Zinn’s book You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train.
